| EVELYN AUDELO AND HER MOTHER, MONICA LOZANO |
At the 45th Reunion, the Wilson '63
Reunion Committee proudly announced the establishment of the "Legacy of '63" Perpetual Scholarship Fund. For the school year 2008-2009, Wilson student Evelyn Audelo (pictured
above with her mother, Monica Lozano) was chosen to receive the first award, and in June, 2009, accepted a $500 check
from our class. Steve Wille, '63 alumnus and current faculty member at
Wilson, happily reports that Evelyn is his former student ... and one very deserving of this honor. She
is enjoying life at CSULB and is proud to be the first member of her family to go to college.
The following note was received by our Reunion Committee to be shared with
all classmates:
" I
would just like to thank you for your generous donation. I plan to attend California State University of Long Beach.
I am not sure of my major, however your donation helps my family and me, and we are very thankful. I plan to buy books
with the money.
I hope we can stay in contact, so that you can be informed of my educational decisions and accomplishments.
I feel very honored to be the first to receive this scholarship. Once again, thank you." Evelyn Audelo

NOTE: A detailed description of the "Legacy of '63" background, criteria, and donation information
will appear on this website in the near future. In the interim, questions can be directed to Nick Sherbin, nsherbin@sbcglobal.net
